The IPL flash-lamp produces light and heat which stimulate and rejuvenate the skin. The IPL helps to stimulate your own collagen and elastin production, reduce fine lines, wrinkles and pore size, improve the texture of the skin and is ideal for sun damaged, pigmentented or ageing skin by rejuvenating and stimulating cellular renewal.

The facial includes the face being cleansed, toned, exfoliated, then a cold clear gel is applied to the face and the IPL lamp brightly flashes and can warm and tingle the skin. The IPL is used all over the face and lifts and tones the skin and helps to rejuvenate the cells. The facial is finished with a massage and oxygenating creams.

 

For optimun results a course of 6 treatments every 10 - 20 days is needed for skin rejuvenation. Than a top up, maintance treatment once a month.

If you are wanting the treatment for pigmentation, this is harder to reduce and can take more treatments, the results depend on the length of time you have had the pigmentation and how superficial it is.

 

We are able to treat a variety of skin types but best results are obtained on lighter skins.

The unique software of the IPL System is pre-programmed for different skin colours and adjusts the energy output to match the requirements of your skin. A consultation will determine your suitability for the treatment.

It is very important you are honest and upfront about any medication you are taking or have taken, some medications can photo sensitize your skin, which means that you are more likely to burn or have pigmentation problems. We have a contract with LCS a medical company specialising in laser safety and they will advise us whether your medication affects the treatment.

During the treatment you will be provided with safety eyewear for either the Laser or IPL. The Laser and IPL room has been inspected and approved by the Health Care Commision.

 

The facial is one hour.

 

No anaesthetics are required and many people describe the feeling as a warming sensation and occasionally is slightly tingles.

 

You should avoid tanning (sun, solarium and self-tanning creams) at least one month before treatment and completely between treatments.

It is adviasble to wear an SPF of 30 between treatments.

To improve results home care products and exfoliation is advised.

Avoid any heat treatments for 24 hours, this may include cooking, steam ironing, exercise, saunas and jacuzzis.
